NCTR Welcomes Dr. Tina L. Fletcher as Board Member

December 1, 2025 – The National Center for Teacher Residencies (NCTR), a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing, launching, supporting, and accelerating the impact of teacher residency programs, has elected Tina L. Fletcher, Ph.D., as a new member to serve on its Board of Directors. 

Dr. Fletcher, who serves as the senior officer of strategy, learning, and evaluation at the Walton Family Foundation, brings over a decade of experience across education and policy with a deep commitment to improving outcomes for students and educators.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Fletcher to our Board of Directors, and we look forward to her insight as we guide NCTR into its next phase of impact,” said NCTR Board of Directors Chair, Daniel Velasco, Ed.D.

“Dr. Fletcher has a deep understanding of what it takes to prepare and sustain great teachers,” said NCTR CEO Kathlene H. Campbell, Ph.D. “We value her contributions as her expertise and passion for educators will strengthen our collective impact in supporting the next generation of teachers.

At the Walton Family Foundation, Dr. Fletcher leads research, evaluation, and measurement efforts for the Education Program. She began her career as a high school social studies teacher in Washington, D.C., where she was named Teacher of the Year at Anacostia High School. She later served as a political fundraiser and as a manager for the Memphis Grizzlies, where she led fundraising efforts for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She has also worked as an education consultant in the Arkansas Delta. Her public service includes work with the Southern Education Foundation, the Arkansas Public Policy Panel, the Office of former U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln, and the Office of First Lady Michelle Obama. 

Dr. Fletcher holds a Ph.D. in Education Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, an Ed.M. from Harvard University, and a B.A. from the University of Arkansas. She has been named a Visionary Arkansan by the Arkansas Times and was selected for the Arkansas Business Top 40 Under 40 in 2022.
