The National Center for Teacher Residencies has been awarded a $267,571 grant from the S. D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation to support California school districts, charter management organizations, and higher education institutions that are building or expanding teacher residency programs across the state. NCTR’s work will be conducted via the California Teacher Residency Lab. The lab’s 18 participants are districts, charters, and universities that have received funding from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing as part of the state’s $125-million effort to address teacher shortages through teacher residencies and other “grow your own” teacher recruitment and development efforts.
