A Message from the National Symposium Design Team

March 11, 2025 — These rapidly changing times are impacting us all, and we can think of no better way to get through them than doing so together.

NCTR and our collaborators decided to pivot our in-person National Symposium for Educator Preparation, Policy, and Leadership event to become a virtual event. By shifting to an online event we can be responsive to the needs of many attendees who are working at institutions and organizations who have recently had funding terminated, paused, or tightened and may not be able to attend in person.

On April 9-11, 2025, we can’t wait to virtually welcome passionate education preparation leaders and advocates from across the nation to identify, discuss, and share best practices and policies to support the recruitment, preparation, and retention of effective teachers–just as we did in 2024.

We are thrilled to feature Author and Teacher Dr. Christopher Emdin and 2021 National Teacher of the Year Juliana Urtubey as keynote speakers. They will inspire us and have time for Q&A as well. NCTR and our co-hosts the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE), Deans for Impact (DFI), The Hunt Institute, the Learning Policy Institute (LPI), the National Education Association (NEA), the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), and Teacher-Powered Schools carefully designed two days full of virtual sessions with more than 100 presenters engaging conference participants aligned with the event’s four strands: teacher leadership, educator preparation program, district/school leader, and policy.

Won’t you join us virtually? Registration for our virtual event has re-opened and will close on March 28, 2025.
