NCTR Selects New Partners for 2017-18 Supporting Effective Educator Development Grant

Chicago – Four new school district-serving partnerships have been selected to launch teacher residency programs with the National Center for Teacher Residencies (NCTR) as part of its Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) federal grant, NCTR announced today.

Albuquerque Public Schools and the University of New Mexico College of Education Teacher Residency Partnership (New Mexico), Apple Tree Fellows Program (Washington, D.C.), New Visions for Public Schools in partnership with Queens College (New York) and Wilmington University Year Long Residency (Delaware) will each receive up to $500,000 and will participate in NCTR’s innovative two-year New Site Development Program, a consulting program designed to develop the core components of an effective residency. Grant support from NCTR totals nearly $2 million.
