Eduardo Lara, Ph.D.

Director of Programs

Eduardo Lara, Ph.D., (Habla español) joined NCTR in 2022 as a Director of Programs. A seasoned disrupter-of-inequities, in this role, he champions a social justice approach toward supporting residencies across the network by providing technical assistance and support to partner sites. Prior to NCTR, Eduardo has worked as a bilingual social studies teacher for LAUSD, Director of an Urban Education program at LMU, Associate Director of the Youth Empowerment and Research Seminar, and Director of Research for the Health Literacy Project. He has also taught for the UCLA Center X IMPACT Teacher Residency program, CSULB Sociology Department, and Pepperdine Teacher Preparation Program. Complementing his profession is civic service to Long Beach, Calif., as an Equity and Human Relations Commissioner, Board of Director for the LGBTQ Center, and advocate for the Long Beach Immigrant Rights Coalition.
