Learning in Action Across the Network

February 10, 2026–As 2025 came to a close, the Network conducted its first site visit at the University of Southern Mississippi’s (USM) Gulf Park Campus in Long Beach, Mississippi, from November 17-19, 2025. The visit was a strong success, offering meaningful opportunities to engage with program leaders and partners and to anchor Network learning in real-time observations of the USM residency program in action.

Entering 2026, NCTR Network members participated in our annual data collection, generating critical insights to support shared learning and continuous improvement across the field. These data will help shape and strengthen future Network programming.

Looking ahead, the Network is moving from exploration to application through our Community Learning Experiences. Upcoming sessions will focus on strengthening media and messaging for advocacy, monitoring policy shifts and their implications, and reimagining sustainability with an emphasis on long-term impact. In parallel, the BEI Residency to Legacy 2.0 initiative will continue to support programs as they implement sustainable, high-impact retention practices aligned with their capacity. These efforts are designed to build community and advance the long-term success and legacy of the teacher residency movement.

Finally, the Network will convene for an upcoming site visit to the Nashville Teacher Residency from March 25-27, 2026. This visit will offer an in-depth opportunity to observe strategy and practice in action and to translate shared learning into concrete, program-level impact.
