September 9, 2025 — As we step into a new academic year, I am filled with a deep sense of hope and determination for what lies ahead. The education field is facing challenges, but also opportunities, and together, we can continue to positively impact teacher preparation across the nation.
This year marks an exciting season for our community. In addition to releasing our 2024-2025 Annual Report, we are also gearing up to launch a new webinar series for all to attend, and we have shifted the scope of our 2026 Symposium to strictly strengthen our work with our Network teacher residency programs.
NCTR is happy to release our 2024-2025 Annual Report, a reflection of the progress we’ve made and a roadmap for the work still ahead. The stories and data captured in this report highlight the extraordinary commitment of our teacher residency programs and partners who are transforming teacher preparation across the country. I believe you’ll see not just evidence of what we have achieved, but inspiration for the possibilities yet to come.
We are also thrilled to launch a webinar series focused on transforming teacher preparation. These conversations will bring together thought leaders, practitioners, and advocates who are shaping the future of teacher residencies. Our first webinar of the series will be held October 9 on teacher residencies and teacher registered apprenticeship programs. The goal of the webinar series is to create spaces for learning and innovation—because the work of preparing excellent teachers for every classroom is too important to do in isolation.
Finally, we are excited to share that this year’s Symposium will be a dedicated gathering for our teacher residency programs. To better serve and strengthen our network, this event will not be open to the general public, but instead will focus on creating deeper connections and tailored learning opportunities for the teacher residency partners within our Network. We deeply appreciate the support from our broader community and look forward to continuing to engage with you through our webinars, annual report, and as always, NCTR Impact.
As we embark on this academic year, I am hopeful. Hopeful because of the dedication of our teacher residents and mentors, the vision of our partners, and the unwavering belief that every student deserves a well-prepared, committed, and compassionate teacher. With your support, we can continue to transform teacher preparation and, in doing so, change the future of education.
Thank you for contributing to this work; together, we are building something extraordinary.
With gratitude and hope,
Kathlene
