NCTR's consulting services are aligned with the organization's research-based Levers for Equitable Teacher Residencies, which define the design and implementation of high-quality teacher residency programs and identify the benchmarks for program development.
Our nationally known Residency Design Academy (RDA) is designed for partnerships of school districts, charter schools, institutions of higher education (IHEs), and/or nonprofit organizations to build a new teacher residency program or leverage the teacher residency model in an existing program. With three consulting service options, programs can explore whether a teacher residency program meets their needs or fully work toward building and launching a high-quality teacher residency model in their own context.
NCTR’s Network is comprised of the most innovative teacher residency programs in the nation. NCTR convenes Network partners to collaborate, exchange best practices, and share data in order to continuously improve their programs and influence teacher preparation nationally. With three Network consulting options, teacher residency programs can involve their entire staff in taking advantage of the various offerings and opportunities for learning.
The Black Educators Initiative (BEI) is a national call to action to recruit, prepare, and retain more Black educators through teacher residency programs. The initiative is designed to improve student outcomes by increasing student access to effective Black educators.
NCTR offers opportunities for consultants and teacher residency programs to collaboratively develop additional tailored and context-driven consulting that directly meets programs’ needs. Programs can engage in tailored consulting separately or in conjunction with their Residency Design Academy (RDA) or Network NCTR consulting service.
