NCTR Brings Together Leaders to Strengthen Teacher Preparation

SHARE

November 4, 2025 — In October, NCTR welcomed representatives from 13 states—including state agencies, school districts, charter networks, higher education institutions, nonprofits, and philanthropic foundations—for a two-day convening focused on strengthening alignment across the teacher preparation system.

Participants came together to listen, learn, and share ideas on how to better connect policies, practices, and innovations that prepare excellent educators. Guests also heard from Minnesota partners leading statewide transformation efforts and had the opportunity to observe teacher residents and mentor teachers in action.

For nearly 20 years, NCTR has supported how organizations across the country collaborate to improve educator preparation. During the convening, NCTR introduced its IMPACT framework—a model designed to align teacher preparation with the evolving needs of schools, communities, and the future of learning.

IMPACT brings stakeholders together around shared priorities, reflection, and collaboration. It ensures teacher preparation is connected and responsive—equipping educators not only to meet today’s challenges but to lead transformative change for tomorrow.

We’re thrilled to keep building on two decades of evidence-based work and partnership. If you’re interested in learning more about statewide or citywide alignment efforts, we’d love to connect and share the steps that make lasting, systemic change possible.
