November 12, 2024 — The Residency Design Academy (RDA) team recently finished its annual site visit to a model residency. For the second consecutive year, RDA was hosted by Marjori Krebs, Ed.D., and her team at District Partner Teacher Residency (DPTR) in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Joining them were representatives from partnerships at:
- Norfolk State (Norfolk, Va.)
- University of Georgia (Athens, Ga.)
- University of Arkansas Pine Bluff
- University of Houston (Houston, Texas)
- Rocketship Public Schools (San Jose, Calif.)
- University of Minnesota (Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minn.)
- Southwest Minnesota State University (Marshall, Minn.)
- St. Cloud State University (St. Cloud, Minn.)
- Bethel University (Saint Paul, Minn.)
- Metro State University (Saint Paul, Minn.)
- University of St. Thomas (Saint Paul, Minn.)
During the visit, DPTR shared artifacts, best practices, stories, and lessons learned from building, launching and sustaining their teacher residency program. The RDA representatives who attended the visit walked away with resources to support a variety of topics, including recruitment, co-teaching, and teacher resident supports. Representatives were also able to learn from panels of teacher residents and mentor teachers as well as meet with principals, philanthropists, district personnel, clinical supervisors, and DPTR staff to discuss how they support the residency in their specific roles.
Thank you to Dr. Krebs and her team for creating an amazing learning experience for our RDA programs!
